Kathryn Miller | Creative Courier
By Skirt.com, Monday, November 15, 2010The first impression of a party is made long before the first guest arrives. Kathryn Miller knows it’s the invitation that sets the tone and lets people know it’s going to be a great event. She opened her own stationery store, Original Ink, three years ago, creating unique invitations, birth announcements, and stationery from her original drawings and watercolors. The precious, handmade invitations are more than mail; they’re tiny works of art. She says artistic creativity has always been “in the genes.” Her cozy Germantown shop, which sits next to a chicken coop she built, is in a discarded tool shed she and her husband renovated.
What’s your top tip for making a party fabulous? Send invitations by mail; there is still something really special about getting an invite that’s tangible and in your hand.
