My family:  Is huge--5 sisters, 6 brothers; lots of extended folk in addition to biological relatives.

My passions:  Fitness, health and reading.

My favorite possession:  My husband.

I’m thinking about:  A book I’d like to write.

Words I live by:  “If we don’t quit, we will win.”

I am most proud of:  My son, Akil.

What are you most vain about?  My ability to translate complex and arrogant data into something simple and practical.

What keeps me awake at night:  Hot flashes.

My first job:  Chopping cotton.

One thing I never want to do again:  Hire someone when my mind says, “Don’t!”

If I could be totally wild, I would:  Take adventure vacations--climb mountains, white water raft; sky dive.

I am guilty of: Wasting my time.

Right now I’m reading:  Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson & David Oliver Relin

The one item that has changed my life:  Internet, dreaded email and having a Ph.D, but that’s 3.

The nickname I wish I had:  Fearless.

If I could do it all over again:  I would dance.

My favorite body part:  My lips.

My best friend says I am:  Warm, kind, smart.

I still can’t get the hang of:  My BlackBerry.

I wish I’d known:  How to make enough money so that I can stop fearing being a bag lady or a burden.

I’d like to learn to:  Speak Spanish and play the piano.

My mother always said:  Stand up straight and hold your head up high.
